I Love My City

My good friend, Ron Dotzler, is well known for saying that...

The church is at its best when it gets out of the seats and into the streets.

We agree, which is why we LOVE City Serve!

7 days.
4,000 volunteers on the streets.
10,000 hours of unprecedented compassion!

That's our dream, and we're seeing it happen!

For the first two days of City Serve, we've witnessed powerful displays of compassion in action.

Families working together to restore school landscaping and repaint school hallways.
Parents and children standing side-by-side, repainting what were once dilapidated houses.
Hairstylists sharing free cuts with the community.
College softball teams cleaning and polishing windows for senior citizens
Small groups
 throwing block parties.
Men and women, young and old blessing first responders.
Youth camps being prepared for the fall.
Neighborhoods being refreshed.
Senior home residents being surprised with artwork.

And that's just a sampling of the first two days, with so much more to come!

It's powerful to see what can be done when the church bands together, leaves the building, and blesses the neighborhood, isn't it?

There are still five days remaining and countless opportunities available for you to play a role!

All you have to do is follow these simple steps:

  1. Go to our City Serve homepage

  2. At the bottom, choose GET INVOLVED.

  3. We'll follow up and help you take the next step.

We are grateful for you and would love to help you join the movement to bless our city with unprecedented compassion?

ONE MORE NOTE! Don't forget that Within Reach is gathering again IN PERSON on Monday, October 5, from 11:30-1:00 at the Lifegate Papillion campus.

It's going to be an incredible gathering as we:

  • Celebrate what God has done through our lives and communities over the last eight months.

  • Explore the timeless leadership lessons we're discovering during these unique times, and...

  • Encourage one another to lead with boldness and endurance as we remain committed to our mission of reaching the city for Jesus.

We be joined by Kevin Palau, CEO of the Luis Palau Association, which unites churches in cities around the world to love and serve their communities while clearly sharing the Good News of Jesus!

Kevin will help us explore:

  • Why the Good News is still Good News

  • Why unity is a 'force multiplier' in both demonstrating and declaring the life of Jesus, and...

  • How word and deed continue to be a powerful combination for the spread of the gospel.

It's going to be a rich time of celebration, encouragement, and growth for you, your team, and the Metro Church.

RSVP HERE to join us on October 5th

Grateful,

Jed Mullenix
