Giving Tuesday 2021

At Within Reach, we believe that when the people of Jesus show up, the Holy Spirit fills us up, so that we might rise up to carry out his calling in our lives. 

I’m continually encouraged by the collaborative spirit of our Within Reach partners, demonstrated by their willingness to show up and share in radically generous ways. 

Earlier this year, one of our network churches generously gave away hundreds of thousands of dollars, of which a significant portion went to other partner churches. One recipient, a brand new community in West Omaha, turned around and gave generously to yet another new church in Ralston. To make the story even more beautiful, those three churches represent three different denominations in our city, all of which are committed to the same mission of reaching our city with the Good News of Jesus. 

Right now, hundreds of Jesus-followers from over twenty network churches are preparing to welcome hundreds of Afghan refugees to the Metro in partnership with local and national agencies. The beauty and power of a network is displayed vividly in times like these, when unexpected crises become opportunities to unleash compassion through acts of kindness, hospitality, and generosity. We are praying that hundreds of Afghan families would encounter Jesus’ goodness through the graciousness of his people.

At the Citywide Summit in early November, four hundred church and city leaders gathered to declare our resilient commitment to unleashing the hope of Jesus so that every man, woman, and young person who calls the Metro home, might encounter Jesus in a way they can both understand and respond to. 

Each of these stories is made possible because of the generosity of local churches and partners who help make it possible for Within Reach to Convene leaders around causes close to the heart of Jesus, Champion stories of transformation, and catalyze conversations and experiences that lead to sustainable impact.
