We are Celebrating!

Like you, we have made significant shifts due to the COVID-19 pandemic this year. We have taken this season to invest in new ways to convene church and city leaders, champion stories of transformation, and create catalytic conversations and experiences that lead to kingdom impact and growth. It is in this season that I am reminded of the importance of our mission, “to give every man, woman, and young person the opportunity to say Yes to Jesus, that our city might be filled with the presence of Jesus.”

We were thrilled this year to host numerous leadership growth opportunities, featuring guests including Eric Swanson, Dave Runyon, Hugh Halter, Michael Frost, and Dave Ferguson. In October, we gathered with over 150 leaders for a conversation with Kevin Palau, Director of Gospel City Networks, which encourages gospel city movements around the country and world. These environments, along with the countless in-between conversations, help to serve and resource our 35 church and strategic partners, which in turn benefits the tens-of-thousands of Jesus-followers they represent.

We continue to celebrate the spirit of unity that Jesus is fostering in our city. This was demonstrated vividly in early June when, in response to race-related tragedy and unrest, church leaders locked arms to stand united on behalf of our neighbors who have experienced injustice and oppression. We are joyfully committed to laboring for peace, reconciliation, and well-being for all who call the Metro home and believe that in doing so, Jesus will be lifted up, the Good News will gain credibility, and our city will better reflect Jesus' dream for his world.

In September, 3,500 volunteers unleashed over 7,000 hours of unprecedented compassion on our city streets in partnership with 130 non-profit organizations and ministries. In doing so, they demonstrated the power of what can happen when Jesus’ Church stands together to love and serve our neighbors. We thank God for the myriad ways these individuals continue to express the compassionate heart of Jesus.

We believe that now, more than ever, our city needs leaders - ordinary women and men - who will embrace the call of Jesus to take the hope of Jesus to the places that we call home.

This is why we are not letting the impact of the pandemic slow down our mission to encourage and mobilize our Within Reach partners to reach more people, plant more churches, unleash more compassion, and develop even more next-generation leaders.

We are here to serve you - our church and city partners - and to champion the work of Jesus in the Metro. Thank you for being a prayerful, joyful partner in this endeavor!

Grateful,
