Don't Face the Crisis Alone: Partnerships and Best Practices

Yesterday, I sat around a table in a vacant restaurant with leaders who are working on the front lines of the current crisis, providing care and compassion to those most affected. Moments before our lunch ended, we were informed that the restaurant had issued a temporary shut-down and we would be the last customers to be served before all operations ended. As I paid for our meal, I said goodbye to two employees who, with tear-streaked faces, wrestled with the impact of the changes on their personal budgets and families. Thanks to Within Reach, I was able to confidently assure them that they are not alone!

Theirs is but one story among thousands in our city.

If there was ever a time for our citywide movement to band together, that the light of Jesus' presence might shine brightly through his unified church, NOW is that time!

I am beyond encouraged by the rapid response of church families and city leaders to the current COVID-19 crisis. Significant and strategic steps are being taken to extend compassion and care toward those whom we serve on a day-to-day basis in our local churches, neighborhoods, and businesses.

I am also encouraged by the Crisis Response Team that has gathered so that, together, our citywide movement can provide well-coordinated service and support to the Metro. The team is comprised of church, business, and non-profit leaders who are committed to leveraging their leadership influence and capacity for your benefit.

In short, we are here for you and want to provide time-sensitive updates on crisis-relief efforts as well as relevant tools and resources to help expand your ability to bring the hope and healing of Jesus to our city streets.

For today, don't miss these three opportunities!
