Do you have a dream for your city?

I believe that one of our highest callings as Jesus-followers is to share His dream for what is possible when the presence of God fills the place we call home.

Remember how Jesus encouraged his followers to pray.

“Father, may your Kingdom come and your will be done ON EARTH as it is in heaven.”

Jesus’ dream, or desire, is that the realities of His Father’s kingdom - realities like love, peace, joy, justice, reconciliation, restoration, healing, and hope for a better future - would show up in our neighborhoods, workplaces, and third spaces.

At Within Reach, we are committed to discovering Jesus’ dream for our city and mobilizing His people to participate in bringing it to life.

This is why we’re excited to launch a landmark initiative called The State of the City Project.

This year-long endeavor seeks to provide a compelling picture of what can be true of our city TOMORROW and a comprehensive picture of what is true or real TODAY.

Through…

  • Dynamic demographic studies

  • Barna City and Church research

  • Neighborhood listening tours

  • State of evangelism interviews with faith leaders

  • And, strategic outcomes that identify our city’s most pressing needs

We’ll seek to understand the unacceptable realities facing our city and imagine:

“What could happen if, over the next ten years, we combined our energy, gifts, and resources in collaborative expressions of innovation, generosity, service, and mission.”

This project will be both informative and transformative as it fosters the next ten years of collaborative partnership, extravagant generosity, strategic church multiplication, and unprecedented compassion amongst the Metro Church!

Will you join us TODAY in helping make this project a reality.

You can do so by participating on a neighborhood assessment team.

These teams, made up of twenty people each, will host ten-minute conversations with neighbors across the city to discover what they love about their city, what they wish were different, and whether they’d be willing to play a role in making their city better

Through these conversations, we’ll better understand the:

  • History and values of our community.

  • Perspectives and hopes of our neighbors.

  • Spiritual landscape of our neighborhoods.

  • What, if any cultural tensions are present.

  • What opportunities exist to serve those around us.

  • How we can leverage the resources of the local church to address these needs.

Our neighborhood listening teams will serve an invaluable role in helping us see and appreciate the city through our neighbor’s eyes.

You can join a neighborhood team by contacting our team directly.
